Marriage Equality

It pains me that many of my Christian Brothers and Sisters are tore up about yesterday's decision from the Supreme Court of the United States on marriage equality. The first link below sums it up for me. The following links are additional information resources I have found useful.

To the many committed couples I know who can now be legally married, many of whom have been together for longer than I was married...yes, even adding the years of my first and second marriages... I am very, very happy for you. In my life I have done more to "harm" the "institution of marriage," than any of you. I know you will keep the commitment you had before this ruling, I am pleased that now your legal rights are equal.

God Bless Us, All.

Note:  to the author's line, "This decision does not affect you in any way," I would add, "unless you are a wedding planner or own a business that provides services to weddings: florist, baker, decorator, etc. The cynics among us would also add, "or a divorce lawyer"...I'm not going to go there.

Note: This is chapter four of a four part series, just edit the "chapter04" bit in the link to begin with "chapter01" Interesting reading, all four chapters.

Love

Additonal Thoughts:
"Holy Matrimony" (and for some, perhaps just "Matrimony") vs. "Marriage"...yes, they are different, embrace that.

I am going to err on the side of Love, Integrity, Honesty. I might be wrong, but that is the way I am going to err.

Prayer:
John 13:34-35, King James Version (KJV)
(34) A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. (35) By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Lord God, Almighty, Creator of All,
Abba...
Papa...
You taught us how to Love, with a gift that none of us can ever repay,
The Life and Death of Your Son, and Our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Still we bicker,
Still we fret,
This love for everyone...yeah, we haven't figured that out yet.

But honestly, Papa, the lessons from before,
Well, they've confused some, to the point where they abhor!

I humbly ask you now, as one who seeks Your Will,
Empty My weak and human Heart,
And with your Love and Grace may it Fill.
